generally, it’s hard to find a good espresso machine that’s cheap. it’s not so much i’m worried about it breaking down that much, rather the taste of the espresso won’t be nearly as smooth. if you’re an espresso snob, i’d save more money or just continue going to coffee shops. if you’re not that picky, take a chance on a cheaper machine. go to a specialty store or coffee shop (I know starbucks sells espresso machines that i’d hope are comparable to their uber-expensive machines). avoid buying one at a one-stop-shop kinda place like wal-mart. they don’t specialize in espresso machines so they don’t know what to stock the shelves with. if you can buy socks, ham, and markers at the same place as the espresso machine, i wouldn’t buy it.
